I'm not a huge golf follower, how does a double eagle different than a regular eagle?

2 shots on a par 5 rather than 3 shots on par 5 or 2 shots on a par 4.

    Re: Louis Oosthuizen's double eagle

Not to brag... Okay to brag........ I got a double eagle, eagle, and a birdie in the same 18 holes of golf. Unfortunately I bogeyed about every other hole that day and shot a 79 lolololololololol... 220 yards uphill wind from the right at 20 MPH... shot of my life

3 iron from 260, pretty impressive.

Phil is playing like he's drunk, not thinking at all.

Phil may have just kissed a fourth green jacket goodbye. That tee shot on 4 was cringe worthy

Where did Padraig Harrington come from? I didn't realize he was in contention. Guy knows how to win majors so watch out for Paddy

You could also get one by shooting a hole-in-one on a par 4, but I don't know if it's ever been done professionally. Some people call it an "albatross" rather than a double-eagle.
