Re: NBA build a team (all time)

Playing around with this, and I'm coming up with diverging 12-member teams: Pure impact vs. the "chemistry guideline" set by OP.

Pure impact team has a lot of centers & forwards.

    Chemistry Team includes Robert Parish

Did you actually watch that game? Serious question, and again I am confused how this one game sums up Kobes career or has anything to do with anything? care to elaborate

    Starters:
    G: LeBron
    G: Jordan

You just aren't going to score on that squad, this team would just lock ppl down.

    F:Bird

Selfish? Defensive POTY and almost 6 assist average in post-season. (LeBron is currently the only forward averaging more than than in the league.) Jordan played with Pippen just fine.

    Sorry, your statement is clueless.

Some of the game. I had my head in a facepalm most of the game because I couldnt believe what I was watching. It is in no way a summary of his career, just a prime example of his selfishness. I think its hilarious that you are calling MJ one of the most selfish players when this is just a shining example of Kobe's selfishness. A player doesnt have to score the most point to be considered the best player ever. I like to look at their complete body of work. In this instance (Kobe vs MJ), MJ is a much more complete player than Kobe statistically.

Im just going off of what his teamates coaches and people who played around him have said. Selfish.

Selfish as in nobody better take the spotlight off me or ill have them fired type of stuff. Some of you Jordan Nutthuggers really need to do some research on your hero.

Plus I dont want him smoking weed in my locker room, smells up the place and gets me all red eyed.

Great question, but it's tough to choose since some skills don't necessarily translate to different eras. I spent a few minutes and picked a specific year.

I was tempted to include Magic for Stockton here but this team is built specifically for the half-court offense/defense...

PG-1990 John Stockton – need someone to distribute, play defense and knock down an occasional three
SG-1991 Michael Jordan – unparalleled combination of scorer/defender
    SF-1986 Larry Bird – great shooter/passer
PF-1981 Moses Malone – what didn’t he do?
C-1993 David Robinson – unstoppable scorer that season

    Bench PG-2010 Chris Paul – great distributor/defense
Bench SG-2005 Kobe Bryant – closest thing to Jordan in terms of scoring/defending combination
    Bench SF-2009 LeBron James – athleticism/underrated defense
    Bench PF-2011 Kevin Love – unstoppable inside-out/great shooter/great passer
Bench C-1989 Hakeem Olajuwon – maybe best season ever by a true center?

    Bench SF-1994 Scottie Pippen – defense/glue guy
Bench SG-2005 Fred Hoiberg – led NBA in 3-pt shooting (plus he’s dreamy)

I was really tempted to add David Robinson, he was good.

I cant wait to read all about Kobe once he retires. Then again, I'm not into reading about sexually assaulting women.

Remember that these guys have to fit together, play together, so for me I didnt want guys that arent team players or cant play with other stars. I wanted athletic first 5 and more role types for my 2nd 5.

    1: Magic/ obvious
    2: Kobe/ 2nd best 2guard ever amazing D ect
    3: Bird/ obvious
4: Garnett/ athletic, scorer, rebounder, shot blocker, can run
5: Duncan/ Not the best 5 imo but with this team, I think he fits well

    2nd 5

1: Stockton/2nd best pg, alltime leader in steals, assists, great defender
2: D-Wade/ Dont have an explanation, need athleticism off my bench.
3: R Miller/ wanted a shooter, throat slasher, game closer
    4: K Malone/ pretty obvious choice
5: Olajuwon/ This was my toughest choice with all the great 5's out there. I finally chose him based on stats. all time leader in blocks, 12th in rebounds, 9th in steals, 11th points. Basically he can do whatever you ask, also athletic.

    Extra 2

1: Shaq/ big body, top 3 centers of all time,
2: Chris Mullin/ because I thought of him and really wanted him on my team.
So you've included two guys in your top five who you think are not the best at their position? You also seem to thnk the NBA was invented in 1980.

right, sometimes the best players arent right for the team. thats why I enclosed that paragraph at the beginning that you must have missed.

As far as the 80's, yes thats about right more like late 70's, about when modern day basketball was invented.

Im sorry but jerry west couldnt even hold Jamal Tinsleys jockstrap pal.
