Dempster to DL, Campana Recalled, Byrd Traded?

Byrd is hitting .070 and was not in Saturday's lineup, although he was in the clubhouse.

Dempster has a strained right quadriceps and Sveum said he was "much, much better" Saturday but that it was better to have him miss two starts than to further hurt himself and miss more time.

hopefully byrd is gone.. i just want them to call up jackson.

I was really hopeful coming in to spring training that Byrd would have a big year. He dropped a lot of unnecessary weight and was in the best shape of his life. I expected him to have a hot first half, and then we'd trade him at the deadline.

Just bring up the youngsters. This season is already screwed. Get them the time.

This season's been screwed since LONG before it began.

This season isn't about winning, it's about development of players and making moves to get future talent.

Btw, just saw someone with ISU gear on at the cubs game on tv.

Jackson still probably won't be called up until June.

While I want Jackson to be called up too, I would be willing to bet they don't until the 2nd half of the season. Rizzo? He may be called up sooner, but only if he can play every day. That would mean moving LaHair to the outfield, which they can do now if Byrd is out (I really hope he is...can't hit anything, and has played the worst defensive CF in the league).

LaHair in RF
DeJesus in CF (until they bring up Jackson in June/July)

Rizzo likely be called up after Jackson since his service time clock had already started. Id Guess June for jackson and July for Rizzo. Posiable bullpen help for Cubs Bowden maybe?

Rizzo's or Jackson's (re service time)?

I thought it was Rizzo's that had already started, which is why I was thinking he'd get the call up before Jackson.

Saw the ISU dude too, last weekend I saw an I-State shirt in St. Louis. I think fringe/out of state Cyclones are a little bit prouder than usual to sport their gear at baseball games.

Rizzo's service time has started and will restart when he gets called up which is why he may not be called up untill after jackson because his service hasn't started. Which is why I think june for Jackson and July for Rizzo
