Re: Ken Harrelson- White Sox television broadcast announcer
It's entertaining that any time a Cubs fans calls out Hawk for being an embarrassment to his entire profession, they must bring up Harry or Santo. This is a discussion on the abomination that is Hawk, if you wish to rip on other announcers start up another thread.
The 2-year old crybaby fit he threw about that ejection was beyond ridiculous. Once again, I go back to my point that a radio broadcast seems to be more fitting for this moron but then he would have to do play-by-play and we all know how that would go.

Re: Ken Harrelson- White Sox television broadcast announcer
One of my Hawk memories was when the Sox were playing the Twins. It was Buerhle's next start after the perfect game, in the Metrodome, and Buerhle either set the record for the most batters retired in a row or was close. The Twins ended up having a good inning around the 7th or so. So after that he was a little unhappy. Joe Nathan comes into close the game and, the last out with a runner on 2nd that would have tied the game, Kotsay hits a line drive right at Cuddyer and Hawk says, "DAD GUMMIT!".
I thought it was funny.
Note: I do not hate Hawk.

Funniest comment to me "how many opportunities are you gonna have to win a major league ball game?"

Very fitting that you would post this. Whenever I hear a Cub fan complain about Hawk, it sounds like the teacher on the old Charlie Brown cartoons....wonkawonkawonkawonkawonka.
Then again, Sox fans usually don't have the need to start up a thread about the Cubs announcers. Maybe if the Sox find themselves with the worst record in baseball this year, I'll start up a thread about whoever the current Cubs announcers are.

It's amazing how you can bring in a hotshot CEO and get a free reset button for three or four years. I can't believe it, but they could really care less that their team would struggle in Double-A this season.

Do you REALLY think that calling the Sox the "good guys" on a White Sox broadcast is unprofessional? I've been to I-Cubs games and they've had "Good Guys" and "Bad Guys" as the name of the teams on the scoreboard.
Look, I think Hawk went a little too far yesterday, but that was a TERRIBLE call. No warning, he didn't hit him, and it was below the waist. The ejection was awful.
I don't understand why outsiders (non-Sox fans) consistently complain about Hawk. He works a White Sox broadcast for White Sox fans. He is as big of a Pale Hose fan as it gets and he's saying the same things us at home are saying.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

IF they were, tough ****, you were told not to do throw at anyone and did anyways and the ump is well within his rights to eject the pitcher. IF, however, no warnings were issued then a better case can be made for the ejection being egregious. I would hit AJ every chance I got.
