Hard Knocks
Dolphins will be on Hard knocks this year. ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk Dolphins will be on Hard Knocks http://wp.me/p14QSB-3hxf http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/05/29/dolphins-will-be-on-hard-knocks/
After several teams declined to appear and many questions about why any team would want to do it, we finally know who will appear on this summer’s installment of Hard Knocks: The Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins announced today that they have agreed to appear on the HBO series that chronicles one NFL team’s training camp. The show will air weekly, beginning on Tuesday, August 7.
From a business perspective, the move makes sense: As local interest in the team has waned, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has made clear that he wants his team to generate more buzz. The team that appears on Hard Knocks is always one of the most-discussed teams in the NFL in August.
And from a storytelling perspective, the producers of Hard Knocks will find plenty of storylines to explore, such as new coach Joe Philbin running a training camp for the first time and a three-man quarterback competition featuring incumbent Matt Moore, first-round draft pick Ryan Tannehill and free agent signing David Garrard all in the mix.
The biggest question, however, is whether the Dolphins are interesting enough for many football fans to care about their training camp. Coming off three straight losing seasons, the Dolphins aren’t one of the league’s marquee teams. That makes this announcement something of a surprise.

Re: Hard Knocks
Wow. Are they desperate for this show to tank or something?

Like the show, doesn't really seem like they have the personalities on the team like the Jets or the Cowboys did, maybe I'm wrong though.

Re: Hard Knocks
They couldnt get a team to sign up. Several offers went out that were declined: Redskins, Falcons, Broncos, Jets, 49ers, Saints, Colts.
The only team that was asking to do it was the Jags... Dolphins should be much better than Jags. The better story line IMO is the guys on the brink of making the team vs being cut over the storylines of "stars."
Plus a QB competition and a new head coach to follow.

Re: Hard Knocks
I realize there are a lot of reasons not to do this but I think for a team it would be great publicity and excitement for a team. I think the Saints make a pretty good case but I don't know about the other reasons unless the Jets want to keep quiet about the QB battle and the Colts don't want to put too much pressure on Luck yet.

Re: Hard Knocks
Great. Hard Knocks about a team that went 6-10 and 3-3 in an overall crappy AFC East. Riverting.

Re: Hard Knocks
I dont care who the team is, the show is fascinating no matter what. -
Re: Hard Knocks
I like this show, so it doesn't really matter to me what team they feature.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -
Re: Hard Knocks
Greatly enjoy watching the show no matter who the team is but unfortunately don't think the series is going to last much longer unless the NFL steps in and tells teams they HAVE to allow the camera crews in to film their training camp. Goodell has a lot of power but I doubt even he can make a team do that.
