I would agree that Nash has no business being behind those fellas. As Bryce Harper would say, "That's a clown stat, bro." My question is what else does Tim Duncan have to do to get that extra .0000001% ??

Granted I don't know the guidelines or how many can be selected a year.
And I agree on the borderline HOF, but people act like he's a shoe in, and that is what I don't get. KG is a shoe in. Ray Allen being the alltime 3 point shooter probably makes him a shoe in. Although his career has been similiar to Pierces Where? I see no mention of the title or Finals MVP. Never been a superstar
Never been 1st team All NBA
Only been 2nd team All NBA 1 time in career
Only been 3rd team All NBA 3 times in career
Didn't do anything in the playoffs until KG, Allen, and Rondo came to town
Career averages are solid
22 ppg, 6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.5 steals
His resume is shockingly similiar to Vince Carter minus the very obvious and important ring. Now I think he's better than Carter but statistically and by All NBA standards they are the same player. I don't think anyone considers Carter a Hall of Fame player, do they?
How about Tracy McGrady? From 2000 to 2007, McGrady was a better player than Pierce. Difference is that he played for Orlando instead of Boston.
I'm guessing most disagree with me but just seeing if anyone agrees. Don't confuse hope for a plan. -

Re: Paul Pierce - HOF?
McGrady shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Paul Pierce in terms of overall career. I would agree that TMac had a higher ceiling than PP but McGrady's prime only lasted about 3 years due to injuries. Not to mention McGrady's lack of playoff success. He played on some decent Houston teams that could have easily made some runs.
Pierce was durable during his career, won a championship, was a Finals MVP, and averaged 22, 6, and 4. The guy deserves to be in the HOF.

Based on your reasoning, Terrell Davis would be the best RB ever in the NFL. Don't confuse hope for a plan. -

Pierce was durable during his career, won a championship, was a Finals MVP, and averaged 22, 6, and 4. The guy deserves to be in the HOF. 8 straight seasons of over 24 ppg. How do you get only 3 years out of that? He was All NBA team for 7 seasons.
Compare McGrady's playoff stats to that of Pierce's as well. 4 more ppg, more rebounds, more assists. He just played on bad teams. He didn't have the supporting cast that Pierce has had.
McGrady's playoff #'s during his prime
2001 Orlando 4 4 44.5 .415 .200 .816 6.5 8.3 1.8 1.2 33.8
2002 Orlando 4 4 44.5 .462 .313 .739 6.3 5.5 .5 1.8 30.8
2003 Orlando 7 7 44.0 .448 .340 .773 6.7 4.7 2.0 .9 31.7
2005 Houston 7 7 43.0 .456 .370 .824 7.4 6.7 1.6 1.4 30.7
2007 Houston 7 7 40.0 .394 .250 .737 5.9 7.3 .7 .9 25.3
2008 Houston 6 6 41.2 .425 .208 .623 8.2 6.8 1.5 .8 27.0
Numbers above are way better than Pierce's ever have been

7 time all NBA player to Pierce's 4 years. Better scorer for a solid 8-10 years. Better playoff #'s than Pierce. His resume is better minus the ring. If you have an argument to show Pierce's resume is better, please show it, as I love the conversation and have changed my stance on some things after reading others posts, but so far you've added nothing to this thread.
And back to another question/point now. If Paul Pierce has a career in Orlando and Toronto is he a HOF'er? I question it.

Pierce: 23000 pts, 6100 rebs, 4000 asts, 1500 stls, 15 Playoff series wins, 2 conference titles, 1 NBA title, 1 finals MVP.
No comparison.
