Missed it, but remember the Dream Team fondly. Still think it was a crime that they gave the last spot to Laettner instead of Shaq though.

I didn't catch it, but supposedly MJ admits to keeping Isiah Thomas off the team.....found that to be very interesting.

what was worse was Steve Alford's spot after his freshman year at Indiana in 1984, while assistant Olympic coach Bobby Knight had a say in CUTTING Charles Barkley and John Stockton--two future NBA hall-of-famers.

A complete homer move and pathetic joke

If you saw the special it wasn't just MJ. If anything Isiah did it to himself. Nobody wanted him on the team because of how dirty he played and the way he handled losing that year in the eastern conference finals

The war started long before that. In I think Magics book he and bird (I think) talked how jordan was freaking out and trying to get everyone to vote no on Thomas. They went along with it just so they didnt have to deal with Jordan being a ****.

Didn't it go back to Magic and Isaiah shutting Jordan out at an All-Star Game as a rookie or second-year guy?

I dont know if it was Magic or not. George Gervin comes to mind but he only played in the east in 85 his final year. So maybe it wasnt him. It could have been anyone, I dont think anyone in the L really gave to craps for jordan.

Here's one link, but it doesn't prove whether it happened or not:

Well I guess it couldnt have been magic either because of the east west thing.

Right. They used to lump Magic in somehow due to his friendship with Isaiah. I don't know how that would work practically.

Karma's a *****. Jordan was just doing to Isiah what he did to Jordan in the All Star game early in Jordan's career. I'm guessing missing out on a one time Olympics on the greatest basketball team ever stings just a bit more.
