Timberwolves trade 18th pick to Rockets

Budinger will not be a permanent member of the Wolves. They will probably use him the replace Wesley Johnson and then cut him loose next year. Can you say T-I-M-B-E-R.

Some reasons the Wolves make this trade.

1 there wasn't a SG that they liked that would fall to them
2 Budinger has played for Adleman so he knows the system
3 Budingers contract is less than what the 18th pick would make freeing up some more money
4 They have offered Brandon Roy a 2 year contract and are looking hard at a russian guard

Buddinger actually fits what they need very well. They desperately need a shooter and he is at least 10% better than the other players the Wolves have at that spot, especially from the all important corner spot.

They need more than a 10 point scorer to support Love from that spot. He will have to be taking more shots then.
