HB keeps talking all about his "brand." I guess he wants coming off as a spoiled, entitled brat to be part of it. I don't know him or if that's who he really is, but it certainly gives the impression. I said nothing about his likeability (which I agree, he's not). The post I quoted specifically stated that winners play for the team that drafted him. That comment has been disproven multiple times in this thread.

That comment has been disproven multiple times in this thread. I totally agree with that - the three listed are winners, I was more commenting on the thread at large. With the possible exception of Elway, I just don't find any of them likeable, and that's supposedly what Barnes wants to be. He wants everyone to love him, to buy into him, to be a megastar. Kobe is a megastar, but more infamous with many than not.

well, the 2002 Western Conference Finals kind of did prove that the Kings will never win a championship...as in THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP.

Bo Jackson is another example of a pretty universally liked player who refused to sign with the team that drafted him.

They last one a championship in 1945 and since then have won the conference once and the division 5 times per Wikipedia. What a storied franchise. I can understand not wanting to play for that.

Also, refusing to play for the team that drafted you is a ***** move. I thought Eli was a punk for doing it, and I think Barnes is too (if true).

Not anywhere near the same thing.
