Re: Harrison Barnes refuses to sign with Kings
So, once again Harrison hasn't said anything about not wanting to play at UNC but we are killing the kid for being a prima dona. The skype thing was a bad idea but other than that he's been pretty much a model citizen and had a good head on his shoulders throughout his career.

I didn't read this whole thread but it seems obvious to me that he said that because he doesn't know how to skate.
Oh, and also he wants to keep his teeth.

That was until late in his career when they finally put the pieces together and he got it.
Hell, Barnes will probably do just fine. I just feel like, and this is from my personal feelings, that he could have had a fan in me too, but he keeps being so vocal about his decisions, that it turns me off to him. Honestly, he's an Iowa kid, I want to like him.
Hell, in the end, he's going into the NBA, there are enough ******** there now that make him seem like a downright sweetheart, so I'm sure he'll be just fine.

Re: Harrison Barnes refuses to sign with Kings
Interesting note. Robinson, Barnes, MKG, and Beal all refused to workout with the Kings.

Now it can be debated would he have actually ever signed with Tampa but the Bucs gave him a convenient out by telling him to choose.
Didn't Tampa do something to cost him college eligibility too? I thought I remember hearing that somewhere.

Brand wise is what I'm talking about. Because that seems to be the focus I hear about with HB and more specifically what I'm talking about in relation to his (rumored) decisions. Just look at Jersey sales. That may change with the Championship he just won, but 1. Kobe, 2. Rose, 3. Lebron. This is my opinion, but throw away the "I'm taking my talents show" And still let him go to the heat, and Lebron is probably tops on that list. That show ****** people off. He's not in the poor house by any stretch, but he certainly lost popularity and money over the decision to have that show.
Does Lebron care? Maybe not, but I know lebron's main focus seemed to be an NBA Championship, all I've heard about HB is about his brand.

Re: Harrison Barnes refuses to sign with Kings
If this report is true, Harrison should consult with Latrell Sprewell and see how making demands to NBA teams worked out for him.

and where do you hear about HB's brand? Crying cyclone fans looking for anything to hate him for...it's not national news.

I don't hate HB at all, I'm pretty indifferent. I DON'T like people (like Eli) who refuse to play for certain teams and are public about it.

Grantland, a national website, is usually good for at least one crack on HB's branding anytime he comes up in a MBB or NBA draft article. I've heard it discussed and lightly mocked on a lot of ESPN's basketball podcasts. I'm sure there is WAY more discussion about that aspect of his personality amongst UNC hardcore fans. It's far from just Clone fans looking to cry about something.

All these guys have goals for their "brands." It is what it is. Lebron has been big on his brand since he got in the league. He has publicly said his #1 goal is to become the 1st sports athlete billionaire.
