I would imagine that he'll lose some weight and his head will shrink like the rest of his body. But he is just one really large human being, so it will stay pretty large.
So he retires with a fairly solid career, for someone not picked as #2 overall. Considering his draft spot, though, he's pretty solidly in the "bust" category. Never made a pro bowl. Not very good at his drafted position. Serviceable at guard. Sounds like he wasn't going to make the Patriots roster anyway, so he decided to retire.

I'm not sure you can automatically lump a guy like Gallery in with the same crowd that goes broke because they run out and buy 6 new gold chains and 2 luxury cars every 6 months.
I guess he would need rather large pockets to play pocket pool with such a small cue...
