The Packers played well against the Giants in week 13 on the road and beat them. They played poorly at home in the playoffs and lost by 17. Matthews is just stating the obvious, the Packers didn't play like they did all season and got stomped. Tuck is understandably upset because saying the Packers "beat themselves" discredits the efforts of the Giants. Clearly, they played well. You don't upset higher ranked teams by 17 if you don't play a great game. The media is blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Matthews says they didn't play well, which is right. Tuck says the Giants just played better, which is also right.
The Giants got healthy in time to finish the season, and then unleashed their superior pressure to control the opposing QB in the playoffs. They can make any QB look ordinary. Just ask Rogers

The Packers lost because they had the worst statistical defense in the history of the NFL last year. I'm a life-long Packers fan, and I hated last year's team because the defense was awful, and you can't win NFL playoff games without a defense. Maybe Clay should worry about that instead of running his mouth about how they beat themselves.
