I haven't had a team that I have truly been a fan of in a long time. In the 90's I loved Patrck Ewing and the Knicks and Golden State with Mullin, Hardaway, C-Webb and Spree. After retirements and free agency made those teams obsolete I really became a fan of AI and the Sixers. Now I root for OKC. I guess in basketball for me it is different than in other sports (I am die hard Cubs and Broncos fan). I follow teams with players that I like (the Rockets).
I figured OKC had a nucleus that would get them back to the finals to play for a championship again. Now that the Lakers and the Heat just beefed up, that road to a championship for Durantula just got a lot tougher.
OKC has the youth and vigor. Will Kobe hold up? Will Metta be content? Will the ex-Phoenix wonder and his back hold up? Will Dwight recover from back surgery? Will Pau be happy? At least, you know OKC has its act together.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
to bad they already own the rights to the previous championships they just choose not to market it and rely on the whole sob story of we don't have one yet cheer for the under dog.
If Kobe were even the Kobe of 2-3 years ago I'd think Kobe/Nash/Howard would be scary. But with him aging and Howard lacking the killer instinct and team spirit I'd still say OKC is the favorite in the west and that LA could even get taken out by other teams in the west.
OKC is known for offense but they're the better defensive team of the two outside of Howard and as equipped to face Howard as any other team is.
