ESPN understands that the fee Fulham wanted for Dempsey from Liverpool was higher than that they accepted from Spurs or Villa.

That would actually make sense why they couldn't get a deal done then. £6 mil is still a steal for Clint though. Great for Spurs, they just may be my new team since my poor wolves are out.

Liverpool will rue this day. Spurs will replace them in the Big 4/5 because of this signing. Clint seems like the type of player who will want to go out and show everyone why he held out for so long for a big club. Goalkeepers beware.

Clint has always played with a massive chip on his shoulder which is one of the reasons he's been one of my favorites. I'm sure he'll be all sorts of motivated to prove that this whole ordeal was worth it. I think Spurs picking up Dembele will be equally huge for them as well.

Hate that we lost Dembele and Dempsey this week, but really like the additions of Dimitar Berbatov, Kieran Richardson and Chris David (19 yr old Dutch striker we plucked from FC Twente today). Really like all the youth that Jol has brought in and hope that in the future we can hang onto them for a while and not just groom them for the bigger clubs.

God bless RVP! I fear where we'd be without him (and Kagawa) at this early stage. If Rooney can get back to be fit and in form and we can figure out a way to play those three together, then look out EPL.

Although, our back line is still a MASH unit.

Giorgios Karagounis is joining Fulham through the end of the season. He's getting up there in years, but Fulham could use some experience in the midfield after losing Demps and Dembele.
