It's the same thing with lottery winners. The majority of them end up losing/spending most of the money and end up with little to show for it.
Yeah, combine surrounding themselves with the wrong people and someone getting a ******** of money for the first time, often after living a life where there was very little money, and it's not hard to see why they don't have any concept of how to deal with and keep their money.
I was going to say that this is an example of a wonderful UT education paying dividends, but everyone else already said it better.
If I ever had that kind of financial windfall, which is not likely as I do not play the lottery, had my pro sports career ruined by bad knees and an overall lack of any discernible talent(mostly the knees), and the fact that Tyra Banks has stopped accepting my ANTM audition tapes, I'd like to think I'd do things differently.Quote:

Other issues are bad people that take advantage of these athletes, it said VY is sueing his financial advisor for $5.5MM. The FA, if doing his job should have had him on a budget and set VY & his family up for the rest of their lives. If VY was the big spender the FA was saying - he should have resigned from the duty of being his FA.
I do not feel sorry for him one bit, these guys have the world in their hands and blow it.
