If you are talking junior high football then yes, I agree running up the score is not good. But these are grown men, well-paid professionals. They can take it. My argument against running up the score is that the offensive players are paid well to win games...too well for the owners to risk them being hurt when it doesn't matter (and I'm not saying that in a namby-pamby wussy way, it's business. You're not going to send your brand new dozer out to do a job a guy with a rusty shovel could take care of).
As for Schiano...yep, he has the right to do it. Game's not over. However, doing it when 'it's over' even though it's not over, is opening the opposition to not quit until the end, either. Up by 20 with a minute to go...eff it, might as well take a shot deep, even if it gets intercepted and ran back, you still win. If it's within a score, I definitely have no problem with it.

From the way they've played so far at least he doesn't have to worry about anyone doing this to his team.
