Thread title should be changed to "Refs getting sacked" after this game. You can blame the refs all you want but the real problem lies with the commissioner. He has to take responsibility for all this and his greed.
Now that I've seen it again the pass in flight looks like it hits Tate's left hand, and both of Jennings hand, while both players are in the air. As they're falling Tate puts his other hand on the ball, around Jennings.
Now, is possession gained in the air or not until you get two feet on the ground? If possession is given in the air then Jennings has it first and Tate second and it should be an interception. If it's not until the player is on the ground I think it's simultaneous possession because by the time they hit the ground Tate has two hands on it just like Jennings.
I don't know the answer to that though.
Thank You. By the time both players get to the ground both players have their hands on it.
If Belichick was irate after that field goal, what do you think he'd do if the refs made this call against him? Or Schwartz from the Lions? Or better yet, Tom Coughlin... Pack needs a coach like one of them that would get a fine telling the refs off for this one.
