Did you see the Titans Lions game yesterday? Trying to knock it down can backfire.

How the heck is he supposed to hit it out of the back of the end zone from where he was jumping?

Frankly I think ESPN is trying to create a circus out of the whole replacement ref thing and John Gruden is obviously head clown. I think those two in the booth tonight were a hell of a lot less professional than any of the refs on the field.

I think we could put together a better ref crew than these replacements. Okay, looking for volunteers.

Re: MNf - WTF
Rule 8 Section 1 Article 3 Item 5:
Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players
retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an
opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such
players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.

Their behavior in the booth was horrible and I was about to make an individual post on it until this last play happened and kind of took the spotlight.

Re: MNf - WTF
I actually agree with the last call. But not calling the push-off was bad. The two calls that cost GB the most were the phantom roughing the passer on Wilson that took away the INT and the phantom pass interference on 1st and 30. Both of those were absolutely HORRID calls.
Watching the game last night and the one tonight, there had to be around 40 totally penalties accepted in the two games, and I think that's not necessarily because the refs are calling everything, but that the players have no idea what will or won't be called, so they are playing rougher to try to get away with things.

Steve Young is almost in tears on the desk about the game being ruined. Totally agree with what he just said.
