Hawkeye11en1 - Do you think a no call was the proper call? Or what should the call have been, according to you since you have the rule book down inside and out?

No call, brah. He isn't defenseless, he is a ball carrier. Brah.

What makes him a ball carrier, as opposed to a Rec who catches a pass and is defenseless even if he has established possession.
EDIT - and a ball carrier can still get a helmet to helmet penalty, etc. What makes this different

If they have completed possession, by the rule of "possession", you shouldn't call defenseless rec.

The rules just added last year, made a rec that catches a pass still defines as defenseless gaining outrage by defense.
Also answer what made him as a ball carrier not subject to the helmet to helmet hit

You will notice that a kick or punt returner would fall under the "(4) A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air;" clause. And Cribbs was not "attempting to field a kick in the air" at the time of the hit.

Also answer what made him as a ball carrier not subject to the helmet to helmet hit I saw elbow to helmet, as he falls to the ground. Something that happens nearly every play.
As far as your first sentence, what is outrage?

Thank you Not Hawkeye11en1 this describes why the rec who catches a pass could still be a defenseless player.
However. A helmet to helmet hit can be called on a ball carrier. The exception here is that the player was being tackled. He was not defenseless, nor was it an illegal shot.
This is how I watch every game, by knowing the rules.

Note the ball carrier was not DOWN, nor was the play over. So spearing or unnecessary roughness are not fouls that apply
