How in the world did the Giants score that many runs in the regular season? Cabrera? Cuz holy **** that lineup is anemic.

They've had spurts where no one could hit themselves in the head with a bat, let alone get an actual hit on the field. I was as surprised as anyone that the first two games amounted to next to zero offense, however. When you look at the season, the Giants have not played their best games offensively against the leaders of the other divisions (Cincinnati, Washington, Atlanta, St. Louis).

There were breakthroughs here and there, but at best, these series were a game over .500 or worse. SF got a ton of wins by rolling over the NL West teams, especially since the All Star break. Until they lost their last series in LA to wrap up the regular season, they hadn't lost a road series since July. Beating the teams you should beat doesn't necessarily translate well to beating the teams that are at the top.

Pitching is not what it was in 2010 when no one could touch them in the postseason. The starters have been up and down all season. I mean who could have predicted that Lincecum would have had such an epic collapse during the first half and that Zito would end up with 15 wins?

There's no way to know how today's game will turn out, or if the pitching will hold, or if the bats will connect with something that makes it to the outfield or beyond. As long as there is a game to play, there is a chance...

The Reds ****** away the sweet last night. No timely hitting whatsoever. Give the Giants credit for making the best of a bad night hitting themselves. They made the Reds pay for every mistake they made.

Looks like we decided on Mike Leake for Game 4. Not sure what to expect.

Your Yankees are officially on my **** list now--I have to burn up a few hours of leave tomorrow because MLB scheduled the Nats game for 1 PM because the Yankees will draw more prime-time viewers. Total ********; this is the first postseason game in DC in 79 years and it gets relegated to a 1 PM game.

With Cueto out, Cards have the advantage in pitching. But they still have to win the NLDS first. Can't count chickens before they hatch.

The Nats and DistrictCY will have a lot of pressure on them tomorrow. I smell a DC meltdown. So much for the sweep either way.

I wouldn't put the Reds in the NLCS just yet either. Game 4, Giants just took an 8-3 lead in the top of the 7th.
