Looking at a rematch of the '06 series.

Re: ***MLB Postseason Thread***
Not the result I wanted, but was a result that does not surprise me, considering Bumgarner's struggles in the second half of the season. It takes a while to get to four wins in a seven game series, so there's plenty of time. I will be more concerned if the Giants drop another home game today. The last thing I want to happen is to have them go on the road (again) down 0-2. Hopefully Vogey does better tonight.
From the comments page of the game article from the San Francisco Chronicle: "A crappy SF sports Sunday, especially with back to back Joe Buck telecasts." True that. All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots. (maybe) -

Re: ***MLB Postseason Thread***
Good win for STL, sets up an important opportunity to seize control but I'll feel better watching this one knowing that the Cards can't fall behind in the series.
Worse case (SF win) is that the series essentially turns into a best-of-5 with 3 in St. Louis. Best case (STL win) is Cards only need to take 2 out of 3 at home to win this thing.

Ellen how have you not bumped this yet? And Scuttaro is crying like a baby over a hard slide, go Birds!

Re: ***MLB Postseason Thread***
That "hard" slide easily could have broken his leg. It's not the first time Holliday has slid in like that though. I wouldn't call it a dirty slide but it shouldn't be legal. He started his slide once he got to the base, way too late. Even Joe Buck said so, and he's a huge Cardinals homer.

Meh, its playing the game hard. If the Giants didn't like it they could have chucked one at Holliday when he was at the plate.

Slide was hard but this is the postseason. He's not trying to hurt him, but every out and baserunner matters now. I like how hard he plays, for sure.

I like how McCarver is trying to invent controversy. Buck had to point out what dugout the Giants were in.

He is telling us how slow Carp has been pitching today. Carp hasn't thrown 95 for a few years now. Only in certain circumstances does he ever throw that hard. He is 90-91 all day.

This is much easier to watch on Fox without Pitch Trax.
And crazy...that field is in better condition than Veenker has seen in YEARS!
