any reasoning why Altidore didn't get a call up? he's been doing well in the Netherlands.

Can we get a break down of what they need to have happen to advance? I believe this is the last two games of this round.

Klinsmann hasn't been pleased with what Jozy has done lately while wearing the US colors. It is strange because he's on fire in the Eeredivisie, but honestly I think most US fans would admit Jozy has been pretty lackluster for the US as of late. It would seem that life in the Netherlands league and international quality football are pretty far apart.

Obviously, the top 3 teams in the group are all tied on 7 pts with the US and Guatemala ahead of Jamaica by 1 goal in goal differential. It's going to be hard to say what the US "has to do" because so much is up in the air yet. Jamaica is at Guatemala on Friday night and then has Antigua at home on Tuesday.

Simple - win both games and let Guatemala and Jamaica deal with the drama.

"USMNT"? USMNT what? US Men's National Tennis? World Cup what? Hockey? Soccer? Quidditch? Badminton? Could you please put the name of the sport in the thread title? Pretty please?

Landon Donovan, Brek Shea, and Edgar Castillo are all unavailable for Friday night's match due to injury. Fabian Johnson is also out due to illness.

Re: USMNT - More World Cup qualifiers this week
I hated this roster when it was released Monday and the injuries and illness make me very nervous for tonight. There are a lot of Central Mids, without bringing Dempsey back to midfield Zusi and Corona are really the only healthy wingers. I am very interested to see the lineup.
Something to keep in mind Michael Bradley, Graham Zusi, Jermaine Jones and Maurice Edu are all on yellows. We can not afford to go into Tuesday's match without Bradley or Zusi IMO.

Re: USMNT - More World Cup qualifiers this week
According to Grant Wahl here is the Lineup
Howard;
Cherundolo, Goodson, Cameron, Bocanegra;
Williams; Zusi, Bradley, Dempsey;
E. Johnson, Gómez
I love that Jones and Beckerman aren't playing. This lineup isn't that bad. Looks to be a 4-1-3-2 with Williams playing right in front of back 4

Re: USMNT - More World Cup qualifiers this week
what the hell is wrong with Jurgen? why would you bring on Jermaine Jones late in this match? Oh and great hand ball Jones that wasn't obvious. JJ is completely useless and should not be given a USMNT roster spot ever again.
The only sub I understood was Gordon for Gomez late, however after that sub we didn't hit the ball long to him or provide any crosses until the build up that led to the winning goal. Jones for Williams and Kljestan for Zusi were worthless subs.
love the 3 points it will be hard to mess the bed Tuesday, but we aren't out of the woods yet

Pretty please? I think we went over this for the last USMNT thread that was started. I am going to assume that you really didn't know what USMNT stood for and aren't making a lame attempt to bash soccer. It's hard to assume that though because I think the whole "World Cup" in the thread title makes it more or less obvious.
