Cubs trade Marmol for Dan Haren
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -

Very solid trade. My heart will now go on.

Marmol is unhittable when he's on, but it's an understatement to say he has problems with consistency. His pitches have so much movement even he doesn't know where they are going.

Was hoping the Twins would make a run at Haren. Now it looks like Joe Blanton is their best bet...ugh.

Marmol invoking his no trade clause?? Damn you Hendry!

Re: Cubs trade Marmol for Dan Haren
So stupid, Marmol would be going to a team trying to build a playoff contender and leaving one that is trying to clean house. I just don't get why these guys invoke no trade clauses. Dempster screwed the Cubs out of a great deal with the Braves where he could have made the playoffs, Soriano nixed a deal with the Giants who wound up winning the World Series, just how dumb are these guys? It's not like they are trading them to the Royals or Pirates and its obvious the Cubs are trying to clean house and these guys have no future with the team so why do they want to hang around?

This is almost as funny as the Dempster deal.

Bret--Would you like to say you're glad we haven't had any major injuries this week? Your thread isn't going well.

Re: Cubs trade Marmol for Dan Haren
Marmol gave consent to be traded to the Angels. The story was leaked by Marmol himself, thinking the deal was done.
