Any update on his status? Looks like he won't see many minutes at this rate.

Re: Royce White
With Lin and Harden I don't think that team is really a good fit for Royce at this point.
He'd do better with a bunch of shooters like in ATL or with a team like the Pacers.

Re: Royce White
I have to say it's going to be hard as a Cyclone fan to watch if Royce continues to sit on the bench and think about what could have been.

Re: Royce White
I was texting with a buddy who does scouting/video work for NBA teams last week, and we exchanged probably 15 or 20 texts on Royce and the Rockets. I think our consensus was this: Royce was drafted, essentially, as a lottery ticket. He's not a guy who you can just plug and play as a traditional 4 or any other position. He's got to be a guy who has the ball - if he plays off the ball, he's a D-League guy - and that takes a lot of practice and time playing with his teammates. So the time he wasn't in camp was fairly devastating for this season, if he had any chance to come in and run the second unit. But Royce perhaps has a higher ceiling, potentially, than any other forward on that roster. He has, maybe, a 20% chance, down the line, to be a top 40-60 player in the league, playing on the ball with units that can shoot and defend - we've all seen what he can do in the right role. But my buddy also thought there'd be a 50-60% chance he'd be out of the league in two or three years, given some combination of the off-court issues and not being able to ever really blend in his playing style.

Probably a good assessment. I have stated he could have a solid 10-12 year career in the right environment, or if he was without his illness. I have to agree. A 2-3 year stint is possible, but see Royce leaving on his own terms. The travel, the anxiety, the amount of energy spent in one single week in this league worrying about so many issues will get to be too much for him to want to deal with

Re: Royce White
Royce hasn't played yet because he is battling migraine headaches. White still won't debut: Rockets forward Royce White was inactive for the third game in a row Saturday, as he continues to deal with migraine issues. He told the Houston Chronicle that he has never dealt with migraine issues before, but it has kept him out each of the last two nights. It is not known when he will debut.

That would be the different allergies in the air down here. Drove me nuts the first couples year when I moved to Texas.
