USMNT - Friendly against Russia on Wednesday
The roster has been announced for Wednesday's friendly in Krasnodar. It's mostly European based players (minus Dempsey), a few MLS guys whose club season has ended, and Herculez. Timmy Chandler is back for this one, but since this is a friendly he still won't be cap tied to the US. I love seeing some young blood (Gatt & Gyau) on the roster as well. The match will be on ESPN2 at 9am central on Wednesday.
U.S. ROSTER BY POSITIONDetailed Roster
GOALKEEPERS (3): Tim Howard (Everton), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
DEFENDERS (6): Carlos Bocanegra (Racing Santander), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Nuremberg), Maurice Edu (Stoke City), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim)
MIDFIELDERS (7): Michael Bradley (Roma), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Joshua Gatt (Molde), Joe Gyau (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim)
FORWARDS (4): Juan Agudelo (Chivas USA), Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Herculez Gomez (Santos Laguna)
Chandler says that he's ready to commit to the US National Team. Here's a Q&A addressing his thought process....

I won't believe Chandler until he is cap-tied, but it's definitely good to have him back. I'll admit, I was pretty p*ssed at him for waffling, but maybe there is a back story that we don't know about.
Glad to see Jozy back in the squad and hopefully his club form can translate to the national team.

Starting 11:
Howard
Chandler-Cameron-Bocanegra-F. Johnson
Williams-Jones-Bradley
Gatt-Gomez-Altidore
Guessing on deployment here. It could also be a 4-4-2 with Gatt sliding back into midfield on the wing.

MB90 had a sick golazo today. Defense looked like crap, though. A very fortunate draw. Tim Howard saves the day again.

Re: USMNT - Friendly against Russia on Wednesday
Great goal from Bradley. Weird match overall because Russia was clearly the better side, but the US really gift wrapped their 2 goals for them. Danny Williams giveaway on that free kick was the epitome of a WTF moment & Goodson looked lost on the play where he gave up the penalty. Of course, Howard pretty much kept out 3 or 4 other chances all by himself. Like Ian said, the US was fortunate to level that thing up.

I bet Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael have mad skills on the ball. We need to get those guys cap-tied ASAP.
