Tattoos means you're an inmate or thug now?

"Approximately 98.7 percent of the inmates at California’s state prison have tattoos. I don’t know that as fact, but I’ve watched enough “Lockup” to know it’s close to accurate."

There seems to be a lot of racist and ignorant comments like this made in the article. It's okay for any basketball player to have tattoos but when the NFL QB position is held by a black man who happens to have tattoos then all hell will break loose? I'm sorry, i just don't buy that the QB of an NFL team has that much power and influence over todays kids.

I've always thought they're stupid and hence, I've never gotten one. Whether I sit back and judge people that have them...is nobody's business!

whoever judges a person based on tattoos are idiots. I suppose those people think that most of the ISU basketball team are thugs based on that.

I'm not, I should have clarified my post a bit. I apologize. Though my point still stands.

Maybe the author isn't trying to be racists but it does show how ignorant he is.

I don't believe Kaepernick is gay or any of the above...just funny how crazy people can overreact to what they truly don't understand, become afraid and turn on all their mechanisms to cope.

I would agree with this. This article has nothing to do with racism I think people who try to make into a racism issue are being more racist than the author of this article is, because those people are implying that tattoos is a black thing, which it is not

He is using the same reasoning that many police departments make. You are the face of this ____, we want you clean cut, well spoken so you represent us in the best possible light. No different than U of I making (was it Tate) take a public speaking course. Like it or not, being covered in tattoos does not say "I'm a intelligence diligent leader". It says "Don't get use to me because I'll be in jail in 6 months". Not saying it is right or wrong, but those are the connections we make in our mind subconsciously.
