And that's why I can't take the Niners as a serious Super Bowl contender - yet. Sure, they have some excellent wins this season, but they have just as many mind-boggling losses (and tie). Sure, the Rams are a better team this year than last, but going 0-1-1 against them - and looking pathetic both times - is something Super Bowl teams don't do.

And as much as I'd like to proclaim my Falcons as the best NFC team (while they pretty much are, record-wise anyway), I can't do that until they get around to actually winning a playoff game.

Having re-upped Sunday Ticket for the first time in over 10 years, I had the opportunity to watch a lot of the first Ram-49er game.

The Rams were the better team in that game despite it ending (miraculously for the Niners) in a tie.

The Rams followed up that performance by losing the next week, at home, to the Jets by two touchdowns. Think about that one.

Absolutely dumb dumb dumb offense by San Diego. Had 2 timeouts and plenty of time...but kept chucking it into the end zone with what looked to be the same play.

If Luck is the best rookie QB ever, than what is RG3? RG3 is better at every aspect of the game. More accurate, throws better deep ball, more velocity, runs better, makes better decisions, and does it with less.

I would like to agree with you, but this does run counter to your oft posted argument that Tim Tebow was/is a good qb, not based on stats, because he won games.

Don't get me wrong. Luck is good and I'd take him any day. But watching the games, he's no RG3.

RG3 plays on a team that's lost 1/2 their defense to injury this year and Garcon/Davis have been out pretty much all year too. Despite that he has #'s that blow away Luck's. And he doesn't make the mistakes Luck does.

Adrian Peterson is good at football. 210 yds on 21 carries...and he didn't even get a carry in the 4th quarter due to the Packers 11 min drive. He could have had a shot at breaking his own record if Christian Ponder wasn't horrible at being an NFL QB.

I don't buy the "it's the WR's" bit either. Ponder's INT's are inexcusable and are in no way related to bad WR play. One was a horrible decision and the other a horrible throw/decision. That's not on the WRs. Not saying they have a good corps, but at some point Ponder has got to make NFL plays, and he just doesn't. Too bad Speilman and Frazier will never see that reality since their careers are tied to Christian Freaking Ponder.

Huge difference and not what I argued last year. People said Tebow sucked at QB but he did the most important thing a QB needs to do, win. I never argued when he beat Pittsburgh he was better than Big Ben. I never thought he was a better QB than Tony Romo despite leading the Broncos to the playoffs while the Cowboys stayed at home. I simply argued against people that killed Tebow and said he sucked.

If people were ripping on Luck (nobody would) I would defend him as well. I'm simply making the argument that right now Luck is the 3rd best rookie QB based on accuracy, decision making, and running ability (which he is good at). Great player, seems to be a winner, not the best rookie ever when there are two guys this year outperforming him (and winning games too)
