Re: New Orleans Pelicans
"I own the rights to the nickname, so I got to use it right?"
Something tells me the Pelicans won't go over well. No change is better than change in this case.
Edit: I can understand the change if the Hornets will revert back to Charlotte, but the Pelicans? really?

Just have to convince Utah to become the Salt Lakes or the Tabernacles. Isn't ute derogatory to the natives? Seems like the state of Utah struggles with nicknames.

Re: New Orleans Pelicans
Pelicans does not give me a warm fuzzy foir a sports team, not even soccer.

Myrtle Beach's Class A team is the Pelicans and their logos are bad ***, imo.

Re: New Orleans Pelicans
Pelicans? This would not have been my first choice.

They were considering krewe, which is a Mardi Gras Term for the groups. That I could get behind.

Los Angeles and Utah can pick new names and we can go back to the Minnesota Lakers and New Orleans Jazz among others

Re: New Orleans Pelicans
Come on now - everybody knows Utah and New Orleans should have made that trade a long time ago - bring the Jazz back to New Orleans and give the Hornets to Utah considering their obsession with bees. Hopefully they can bring this back too: Unpossible. They'd have to rebuild the Charlotte Coliseum first.

Love it. So glad it isn't something singular.
