The Chicago Bulls and 72-10. Can any NBA team ever match it?
Currently this year, these are the teams still alive to match the record
LA Clippers - 24-6 (Winners of 16 straight)
Oklahoma City - 22-6
San Antonio - 23-8
Miami - 20-7
New York - 21-9
Memphis - 18-8
Atlanta - 19-9
Golden State - 20-10
Also, for the worst record ever for a FULL NBA season, which is 9-73 by the 76ers.
Washington Wizards - 4-24
Cleveland - 7-25
New Orleans - 7-23
Charlotte - 7-23 (Losers of 17 straight)

The world still isn't ready to see the Clippers hold that record, although that's one team that I would consider watching for an entire game.

idiotic "professional" commentators have recently pegged the Spurs, Heat, and Lakers for making runs at it...none of them had any remote chance by the All Star break, I think the SA team was at least 8 lossses, the others hit 10 by the break.
My guess is any team talented enough to push for that record won't get near it because they'll be too distracted tweeting about how great they are.

I think a team will have a shot at it, but it will be tough. What bothers me is that the Bulls were 70-8 I believe and finished the season 2-2.

Whenever the nba says a team can due to its illustrious past of very convenient events for specific franchises....

Just think about it... the Clips have gone 24-6 this year and are rolling. However, they need to go 48-4 the rest of the season just to tie.
Unless one conference gets severely down to the point where one team dominates, it won't ever be beaten.

I don't follow the NBA. However, I don't think it will be beat - at least anytime soon. Too many guys seem to take off games at times.

71-9 finishing 1-1, according to the Wikipedia.

Honestly, every year I check the standings when a team gets off to a great start or has a chance (even if distant). This year, no chance. The only year I really thought a team might have a shot was one year with the Celtics. Eventually it might be broken, but it is a tall order.

It will eventually be broken, but a lot of things will have to happen. I'm sure many people thought the '71-'72 Lakers record would never be broken, but Michael Jordan and the Bulls came along and beat it by 3 games.

I'd probably say no, since the highest win total since then was 69 by the Bulls the next year.
