Finally got around to reading the paper here this afternoon. Multiple second guess references about cutting Sage and essentially trying to get through the year without a backup QB. If the upper managment had played to win this year, like AD, than maybe they would have been in better shape on Saturday to at least give themselves a chance. Hey, at least by cutting Sage they were able to keep that other QB, whose name no one can recall, on the practice squad.

BTW, I have never warmed up the Viking as a fan even after living here 30 plus years but had to admire the whole AD thing and the unexpected run they had.

Vikings should sign Rex Grossman in March. He's been to the Super Bowl before.

please. Take off your Cyclone glasses. Sage being on the team would have done very little. There's a reason he hasn't thrown a pass in a regular season game in 4 seasons.

Just a question for Clone4life, what position did you play and was it your dominant arm that had the bursitis. I've also had bursitis in my shoulder and couldn't raise my arm above my shoulder without an incredibe amount of pain. I'm not doubting your injury but I think there are different levels of bursitis.

Yeah, it was my elbow not my shoulder on my dominant arm. Played a bit of everything (again we're talking basketball) but am more of a small bruiser type. I could see how it may limit you from lifting your arm above your shoulder but it wasn't my shoulder that was hurt.

If you have ever read my posts you'd know I don't even own a pair of Cyclone glasses. I do think, however, that Sage would have been in a better position than Webb to "manage" an AD based offense on Saturday. Sage is at least a backup level QB while Webb is not even a real QB. Point is the Vikings went the season with NO backup at all, Sage or otherwise.

Sage hasn't "managed" anything but a clipboard since 2008. No meaningful snaps. Not a single pass attempt. He once might have been a legit backup, but not in recent years.

Webb is not a great option either, especially given the lack of talent in Minnesota's receiving corps, but his edge over Sage is the mobility he brings to the table.

Joe Webb was flat out terrible. Almost any two bit NFL backup qb could have matched that performance.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Paul Allen is almost in the same league of annoying dbag announcers like Hawk Harrelson. Almost...

I don't know about that. Have you seen an Arizona Cardinals game this year? There are not many backup QBs in the NFL who can win playoff games. Actually there are not many QBs of any kind who can win playoff games.
