Seattle getting NBA Team?
Hearing that the Kings are moving to Seattle.
As a big Gary Payton fan, this would be sweet for them to get an NBA team. Though it being the Kings kinda sucks.
Bring back the SuperSonics!

Shawn Kemp was a great player to watch.

Re: Seattle getting NBA Team?
I'm assuming the City of Seattle will welcome them with open arms, making them one of the more hypocritical cities EVER!

It's ridiculous that a market like New Orleans has an NBA franchise that nobody cares about, but Seattle doesn't because they refused to build a new arena.

Re: Seattle getting NBA Team?
The NBA should have never moved the Hornets back to New Orleans after Katrina. Keeping them in OKC wouldn't have been the most popular move, but it would have been better for the league.

The NBA needs to contract and eliminate the NOLA and Charlotte franchises and the NBA is better off with the Kings moving to Seattle.

Re: Seattle getting NBA Team?
The Kings would become the supersonics if this happened as the city retained the rights to the franchise name.

Seattle deserves an NBA team, I wont dispute that, nor would I dispute that it is better for the NBA to have a team in Seattle then it is in Sacramento.
However, I don't think the now Thunder were unjustified in their leaving Seattle, and all Seattle has done is is try to sabotage the Thunder at any given chance. Now, the shoe is on the other foot, and they suddenly have flipped in their attitude towards a team leaving one city for another? Thats hypocritical.

I definitely see where you're coming from on that, but at some point, cities have to put the interests of their citizens above the demands of billionaire owners and greed-driven sports leagues. The Miami Marlins and their new ballpark are a prime example of what can happen when tax-payers are ignored.

I agree with that, but in this particular situation, Seattle had to know that if they did not meet the requests of the Supersonic's ownership, there would be a great chance they would pack up and head to OKC.

They are supposedly gonna play in KeyArena (the current one) for a couple years while the new one is being built. This is also an attempt to get an NHL team in Seattle, the NHL apparently says the KeyArena is terrible for hockey because of sight lines.
This is apparently the Arena that the city approved... I personally think it looks ugly
This was the old design that was proposed and denied... RETRACTABLE ROOF! My teams: (as of 2/27/13) Cleveland Browns: 5-11 - .313 Cleveland Indians: 68-94 - .421 Cleveland Cavs: 19-38 - .333 Iowa State Cyclones (FB): 6-7 - .462 9/22/18 & 9/7/19 Akron and Iowa State CAN'T WAIT!
