US Soccer just tweeted the lineup: Howard; Chandler, Gonzalez, Cameron, F. Johnson; Williams, Jones, Bradley, E. Johnson; Dempsey, Altidore.
I am hoping for a 4-1-2-2-1, but that isn't how the written lineup works out in the "traditional" way of reading it. I think the worst case is something where we are relying on Williams out wide to provide width for offense. However, he is great defensive cover and we will need it against the speedy Hondurans. The above 4-1-2-2-1 has Williams as dedicated D-Mid in front of our very young CB's. Bradley and Jones as the usual dual box to box guys. E. Johnson and Dempsey to bring width or pinch in depending on how Chandler and F. Johnson play. Altidore up top. Any other ideas?
Well that was ugly. I was hoping for a tie and we almost got it except for an amazing goal and the inevitable big mistake by Gonzalez and Cameron. The midfield just looked bad out there and couldn't keep possession. The Hex will be interesting and challenging if things remain the same.
