Dallas Cowboys 2013 draft....
With the boys up against the cap because the NFL decides they have an uncapped year thats capped....huh....wat?
Anyhow, Dallas will not be a figure in free agency but has a lot of holes....especially on the OL, DL and Safety, as well as long term depth at QB.
So - with San Frans recent trade of Smith, SF has a ton of picks for an already loaded roster. I would target them as my trade partner....its rumored that SF is really liking Safety Kenny Vacarro of Texas. He could be available at 18. If he is, the trade chart would indicate a trade similar to this...
SF gets #18 1st round, #47 2nd Round.
Dallas would get #31 1st round, #34 2nd round, #77 3rd Round
Its time Jerry goes back and reviews what Jimmie did...he would trade back to get additional picks, but they were usually 2-4 rounds picks...the number of solid starting studs in the 5-7 or UDF players is shorter then you would think. They happen, just not in your odds.
So we take our 1st and 2nd rounder and move from 18 down 13 spots and get two picks that would be considered 1st round talent.
Here's my picks....
#31 DJ Fluker RT - Alt Corey Lemonier DE
#34 Eric Reid FS - Alt Matt Elam SS
#74 Brandon Williams DT - Alt Larry Warford OG
#80 Travis Frederik OC - Alt Tyler Wilson QB
If they were to get any combo of these 8 guys, it would be a great first 4 rounds with players that will help today and tomorrow.
For any cowboy fans out there....what ya thinking beside JJones needs to really step back and see whats best for his business....let stephen control the salary cap and bring in someone to just evaluate the talent....
Just saying...im available!!!!

Just saying...im available!!!! It sounds like they have been re-structuring some of their bigger contracts this week (Witten, Ware, Carr, Connor) to free up some cap space. I'm not sure if that's for the draft or a potential splash in FA.

I have been very quiet about Jerry all of these years, but I am finding it harder and harder to believe that they will ever make it back to relevance as long as he has his fingers as deep in the personnel of the team as he does. So many times he seems like some of the fans who value overpriced flash over quiet economical productivity.
I hope he proves me wrong.

They will draft a wide receiver in the first round

As a Vikings fan, I'd suggest you clear up some cap space by trading Romo to Minnesota for Ponder. Problem solved.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -

I hope they cut DeMarcus Ware and draft a second-string LB from some directional school. As a Giants fan, I think that is your best move.

Re: Dallas Cowboys 2013 draft....
From some of the local sports talk it sounds like Romo will be gone in the next couple years so they can get Johnny football.

I hope that's just speculation by local radio folks. If it is true, it's just indicative of what Jerry's major problem is. He lets his personnel decisions get tainted by star power and marketing, and loses sight of what is actually best for the team. There's no way to know what Johnny Football is going to be like next year or the year after. His game could fall off the face of the planet. They don't even know if they'll be able to get him. That's not something they can plan for.
