Go Giants and Seachickens. Save me from the absolute horror that would be the Cowboys-Packers game!

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
The Cowboys are by far the best team in the NFC. The only problem I think they may have is can they just turn on the switch and start playing like they did the first 3/4 of the season. They have been on cruise control for a month now because basically their games haven't had any meaning. While the Giants' past 4-5 games have basically been meaningful games.
I think Indy will dominate SD after watching SD play yesterday. Especially since they will have Harrison back.
Seattle/Green Bay...Eh, I doesn't interest me at all. The Packers should win that easily.
Finally, the best game of the bunch...Jax/Pats. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jacksonville win. I think whoever wins this game, they win the Superbowl.
(Too bad I won't be able to watch much of the games as I'll be on a cruise for 9 days...so I'll miss the Championship games as well. As a huge NFL, that kills me but I'll take the warm weather.)

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
I don't agree that Dallas has been on cruise control and if they have - Wade and Co. need slapped. Playing at home throughout the playoffs vs. playing a potential NFC title game at Green Bay is a huge deal.
I'll admit it's probably been tough for Dallas to get up for some of the competition they've faced - much like it has been for the Pats - but these games have been very meaningful for Dallas.
I think the biggest "blowout" if one will take place this weekend will be Seattle/Green Bay. Otherwise, the games will be close.
Unless Dallas is able to turn the switch back on. The Cowboys did play some of their better offensive games against the Giants this year - but also gave up a lot of points to them. But as long as the Dallas offense is scoring, I'm not too concerned in the defense that has been making stops when they're really needed most of the year.

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
I think you guys aren't giving the Seahawks enough credit. Not saying they will win, but they are kind of flying below the radar.
The Colts will also surprise people. For some reason everyone is counting them out despite them going 13-3. And in that SD game they lost last time, Peyton Manning had 6 interceptions, Vinitari missed a 29 yrd FG to win and they still only lost by 2. That won't happen again.
EDIT: So basically Indy lost a close one to New England, Peyton Manning's worst game as a professional, and a meaningless week 16 game. I think they can play with anyone.

The Cowboys are the best team. Yet they have been underperforming for a month, just like the Giants until last Saturday. TO is banged up. Tony is making more mistakes. The Cowboys could make the game closer than it should be.

The Seahawks may not have much of a running game but none of the 8 teams on Saturday ran the ball well. The SeaHawks are going to be tougher this year to take out than in the past. And I am not a SeaHawks fan except for Seneca.
The Pats will be ready for poor weather. They have had a lot of practice to deal with it. They had 2 weeks to prepare. They have a lot of money riding on them. The game will not be too close.
The Vegas bookies money indicate the underdogs winning from this last week will not be asked to stay for the next round....no close games per the bookies.

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
I am not saying I think the Seahawks will win, but they also seem to play better when it matters. As for the Colts, I think they will win, and then give the Pats a very strong game.

AFC is just at another level. I think the rankings aught to look like...
Patriots
Colts
Jags (behind Colts only by a hair)
Cowboys
Chargers
Packers
Giants
Seahawks
I could easily put the Chargers ahead of the Cowboys with the way Dallas has wrapped up the season and the Chargers are surging to finish.
How can you say the Colts are only ahead of the Jags by a hair? Didn't they sweep them this year?
Colts will be in the Super Bowl.

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
Jags are playing tougher football than the Colts, IMO. Plus, that last game was very tight.
I think if they played today, on a neutral field, it would be a near toss-up with the Colts getting the slight edge because they have won twice.

Both of which they will be doing this weekend.

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
The more I think about this weekend's slate of games, the more excited I get.
Which, undoubtedly will turn to disappointment - so many of these hyped-up games turn out to be clunkers.
But man...I've been begging for a Jags-Pats game and I really hope this one doesn't disappoint!

Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
It seems to me that Seattle plays in rain and bad weather almost every single home game so I don't buy that they can't play well in bad weather. Maybe people are saying they suck when it's below freezing I guess. As for the Jags, who decided that they were the 2nd coming of the Patriots this year?? They're a good playoff team but suddenly they are elevated to "the team to beat" besides N.E.?? Did anyone else see them squeak out a win against Pittsburgh last week??
-
Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
I watched them dominate both games (which were on the road at a place the home team does very well) yet allowed the Steelers back in the game late.
The Patriots are the best finesse team and the Jags are the best smack-you-in-the-mouth team. I can't wait to see those two do battle.
The Pats are good, if you wanna crown their *****, then crown 'em. But they are who I thought they were...and the Ravens/Eagles let 'em off the hook. -
Re: Great match-ups in 2nd round playoff action
The Patriots have shown that they can be beaten, especially in the last 4 weeks. I think the Jags have a shot, but I still think New England has too much talent and postseason experience and will pull out a win.
