Before the contract the Timberwolves, they should get rid of the Knicks .... talk about an organization that has be absolutely run into the ground! And Minnesota at least has young talent and a low pay-roll, with future FA money freeing up in 08-09. The Knickerbockers have old, overpaid players that can't win. Plus they're still paying former coaches (Larry Brown) and former players.
It will be by the grace of God that the Knicks get to the playoffs in the next 5 years, and that is in the weak Eastern conference.
EDIT: I guess this is kind of redudant after reading travmans post. totally agree.

Re: Bad Pro Sports Teams
I think you need to be careful with any arguement to get rid of teams.
This is the same logic that the Texas schools are using to justify dumping ISU out of the Big XII.

Re: Bad Pro Sports Teams
I agree that the Arizona Cardinals are close. They were about as close as they have come in a long time to jumping into the playoffs. I can't remember the last time they were in the playoffs - 1996 I think. But that could have been the year they had Rod Tidwell... wait. That was the plot of Jerry McGuire.
It's hard to think that a team like Tampa Bay could be contracted since they are still a relatively new franchise. Of course, by the time the Marlins were 10, they had won two World Series titles...
I believed in Gene Chizik and all I got was this lousy limited-edition commemorative coin. -

Jeremy Giambi

Just a few of the reasons I hate being a Royals fan. Plenty of capable players have been in KC until they have a decent season. Then it is let's make a lopsided in your favor deal for some prospects that will never pan out. Thank you David Glass for your outstanding contribution as owner of the Royals.

Re: Bad Pro Sports Teams
Baseball could be A LOT more competitive if they had this little thing called a "salary cap." That's the reason that the Dolphins could make the playoffs in two years. In reality Tampa Bay will never make the playoffs as long as they are in the same division as N.Y. and Boston. Kansas City will never make it as long as Chicago, Cleveland, and Detroit are all there unless K.C. gets really lucky. If baseball just had a $75-$100 million salary cap the Twins wouldn't be trying to unload Santana and N.Y. and Boston wouldn't be locks for two playoff spots every single year. Hopefully MLB can fix this problem soon because it's getting really old watching the same story lines every year come playoff time.

Yeah and it's rediculous. You have a P.O.S. like A-Rod that opts out of his $250 million contract so he can sign a $275+ million contract. I'm in the military and I get excited about a $50 raise once a year. HAHA. My paycheck wouldn't be good enough to wipe A-Rod's candy coated backside. How much money does a person honestly need? Baseball is getting to rediculous. I think the owners should just make something happen. What's the worst thing that could happen? The players go on strike again? They won't strike longer than a year then they might have to sell one of their houses or something to put food on the table.

Re: Bad Pro Sports Teams
MLB has the worst management of any of the pro leagues. The NFL figured out how to work with the players union and make the league interesting and competitive every year and promote the product. The NBA sucks but at least they have found a way to sell their product by promoting their stars. MLB is led by a guy more worried about making the owners happy than doing his job.

No, the MLB has the strongest union of any of the leagues. They have guaranteed contracts and a solid pension program and take care of their players. The NFL flat out takes advantage of it's players. Sure there are some out there that get paid well. But there are others that are cut due to injury, then never receive the treatment necessary to make it back. Why waste money rehabbing a guy when you can sign another off the street.

Fire Millen you say? They just gave him a 5 year extension so he can waste more 1st round draft pics in wide receivers that never or barely see the field. -
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
