Is anyone surprised that this more than 1 game? They probably have been doing this for a long time.
While they might have been the only ones taping the signs, it's not like other teams didn't steal signs. I mean it's just totally blown out of proportion in my opinion.
Last season the Green Bay Packers kicked a guy off the sidelines that was taping the Green Bay sidelines, he happened to be the same one that got caught against the Jets.
Gotta agree with that. This thing has been blown way out of proportion. I saw an article on ESPN (I think) that said something to the effect of everyone is cheating. Why else do the coaches cover their mouths with those giant play cards when calling in plays and why do some teams have 4+ guys on the sideline signaling what play is being called? Obviously if only the Patriots were doing it then there would be no need for the other teams to employ such measures against each other? The patriots were the only ones that were dumb enough to get caught.
Taping an opposing teams practice is a HUGE ethical violation. Stealing signs is one thing, but this is something totally different!
this is a walk through people. They allowed media to watch and record. It's their own fault. I hate the patriots but your hearing old players come out and say they pushed the envelope too. The Rams seemed to always know what the defense was going to do also.
It is a small world if people think that tapes are not being made of practices and then sold to the opponents. They cannot even get to the bottom of HGH. With this much money at stake, cheats will be popping up all over. Playbooks will be bought and resold.
I remember the U S built an embaassy in Moscow fifteen years ago for several hundred million dollars and basically had to tear it down because so many listenng devices had been planted in the concrete work nby the local workers. Briberies are common buiness practice in most other countries. Watergate happeneed even though Nixon wa a shoo-in. And that was the president of the US. Cheating will happen no matter how many good guys are out there.
The Patriots are about ready to go undefeated for only the second time in history. With that you can expect everyone and anyone to over scrutinize(sp) any thing they can to find out how they have an unfair advantage. I'm sure there is illegal performance drugs in their gatorade and steel reenforcements in their pads that is the only reason they are undefeated........sarcasm,,,,,,sarcasm.
I'm not a huge Patriots fan either, but this spygate crap is getting old. If they win tonight, and the chances are very good, then they are the greatest football team in history and I'll be happy for no other reason then it shuts up the 73 Dolphins who have been whining and crying this season.
The same people calling for Barry Bonds' head on a platter should demand the same of Bellicheck and the Patriots. Cheating is cheating. In fact Bellicheck and the Patriots improprieties is even worse. They were caught cheating in Game 1. Should have been a forfeit and Bellicheck suspended for at least a year or more. Put some teeth in it. These guys have bent the rules for a long time.
this win must have an *. lol
As the saying goes, there's an element of truth to all gossip. This may be coming out because of the success the Patriots are having, but it may also be coming out because it may simply be true. It may even be worse than we know. The Patroits have been successful in what they've done, so who's to say they didn't expand upon what's been apart of their success (cheating). Where there's smoke there's usually fire...
The problem with that theory is that, if you watch the replay of the Super Bowl, the first red zone series the Rams had almost ended with a 4th down fumble by Warner that NE returned for a TD - luckily the officials called a defensive holding when McGinest tackled Faulk as he was going out on his pattern. However, it is almost as if they knew the plays being run from the formations used - as Warner mentions, the TD came on a QB sneak that would not have been part of the package.
As someone said, if nothing happens at a walk through, why would you tape it?
