The all pro Samuel got burned on the 1st NYG TD and dropped the INT that would have ended the game. Randall Gay and Rodney Harrison should have broken up the prayer pass. The Pats offense was terrible except Welker.
If somebody would have said before the game the Giants were going to score 17 points, I don't think there would be anybody that would have predicted a NYG win. The Pats defense did their job. Football is a team game and all of the Pats players share responsibility for the loss, including EH3.

How about getting a little closer when time was running down?

The thing is, there are a thousand reasons why a team may or may not win a game, but 17 years from now people will still remember Ellis getting beat on the play that "counted."
I have seen lots of other reasons for the loss then just that. The offense should have set up a closer FG try. Bruce Smith could stripped the ball on the safety and maybe gotten a TD. Lots of plays in a game. It is just easier to show the last one.

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

Even if EH had played it perfectly, a good throw still would have beaten him easily, especially given the height difference.
