Ellis wasn't running from Media (Story)

Great story about how Ellis stayed and took the questions. I'm happy to know he played at Iowa State. How many other guys would have answered questions from the Media after that play?

Here's the link...

Well they cant blame him for the loss completely. There is a reason the Giants got that far down field in the first place. But face it, the media will always point at him. My heart goes out to him.

Keep in mind that was a first down play just inside the 13. I have little doubt in my mind that if not for a score on first down, the Giants would've scored a TD on one of the other 3 downs (or got a quick first down and scored from there).

He may not be the main reason they lost but he'll forever be in the highlight clips as the guy that got beat in coverage for the game winning touchdown catch which still sucks.

It's nice to see someone on the Patriot team has CLASS... I know how much everyone loves that word right now...

I really haven't seen that at all. I've seen that most commentators are talking about how it was a horrible call from Belichick to go for an all out blitz and leave one on one coverage against Burress, especially with the height difference between the two players.

Good call from the Giants, bad call from the Patriots, and great job by Manning and Burress to convert.

Think about it though. As mentioned before, noone will remember the many blown plays previously. They will have the pics and words to show the final play only. Its too bad Ellis has to be that guy.

Ellis had no prayer on that play. How many corners would stop Plaxico one-on-one in that situation? He was left out to dry, in my opinion.

People sit here and say that one person can't be blamed for a game being lost. Yet, 17 after the kick, Scott Norwood is STILL blamed for the Bills losing to the Giants in XXV. How about the fact that he had NEVER kicked one that long on natural grass? How about the fact that the defense couldn't stop the Giants in the 2nd half? How about getting a little closer when time was running down?

The thing is, there are a thousand reasons why a team may or may not win a game, but 17 years from now people will still remember Ellis getting beat on the play that "counted."

Asante Samuel shouldve intercepted that pass earlier in the drive. And Hobbs played a great game besides that one play. And 1 play shouldnt win or lose a game

Thank you Wes Johnson for the great 2 years you gave Iowa State. Wish you could've stayed. Best of luck to you, wherever you end up.

"The one thing I really want to say is to tell the fans thank you for everything," Johnson said. "You rooted for me, you were behind me with my injury, and I really appreciated that."

Yet there are still people who blame Shaggy for costing us the
Big XII North.

The funny thing is that Webster guy totally fell down on the previous drive where Moss caught the TD. Would he have been the scapegoat had the Pats stopped the Giants on that last drive?

I hated the Bills at that time and was glad they lost, but I am with you. He missed a 47 yarder! When people talk about it, it is like he missed a chip shot or something.

Re: Ellis wasn't running from Media (Story)

Ellis is the last guy to blame for the Pats loss. Yes, he got burned on the TD, but it was only the 2nd pass completed on him in the entire game. The other was on the first NYG drive that should have been offensive interference. Plus, he got the only turnover for the Pats. The all pro Samuel got burned on the 1st NYG TD and dropped the INT that would have ended the game. Randall Gay and Rodney Harrison should have broken up the prayer pass. The Pats offense was terrible except Welker.
If somebody would have said before the game the Giants were going to score 17 points, I don't think there would be anybody that would have predicted a NYG win. The Pats defense did their job. Football is a team game and all of the Pats players share responsibility for the loss, including EH3.

GO CYCLONES!!!

Ellis had a very solid game and I would expect nothing less from him than to face the media. That TD by Plax was his one bad play. He gave up one long catch during the game, with SHOULD have been Offensive Pass Interference, but we all know that only gets called on 2 receivers in the NFL. E3 had 1 INT, should have been 2 and quite possibly could have been three.

The Giants simply outplayed the Pats.
