Very curious. I think the Suns are scared of another playoff thud. They a see a need come playoff time for a big defensive body to go up against Tim Duncan (and Yao). He's so big he can block out and rebound against those guys, and is very good at getting the outlet pass to start the Suns' break. Stoudemire will benefit with a big guy like Shaq in there.
Interesting considering Shaq's health and drop in productivity, but like I said I think the Suns think they need one last piece to solve their Spurs problem. Not saying I think its a great trade, but speculating what the Suns are most likely thinking.

I can't believe they pulled the trigger on this trade. If Phoenix gets anything less than a championship out of this, I think it was pretty much a waste.

They said today on ESPN that a big reason for the trade was to get a big body for Nash and they guys. This way they should be able to make a legit title run.

If he ever plays worth a damn again. I loved the video on the Suns website from Shaq's rookie season when he busted the goal and caused a huge delay in the game.

They did that piece on ESPN about Shaq at his 1st Suns practice. I guess he was winded.
Anyway, he said, "I'm just here to provide defense and rebounding." Has this ever really been his game? Seems like a drastic change after all these years.
