Ranking the NFL broadcast teams

Dr Z does this every year and it's interesting to see what he has to say. Some are higher than I thought they'd be. Who do you think he got right and who did he get wrong?

I disagree with his take on Joe Buck and Aikman. I like Aikman a lot as an announcer. The one I really disagree with is John Madden. He's the worst broadcaster in Football and I have to turn the sound off when I watch a game he's announcing. Another one I disagree with is Bryant Gumbel. That guys terrible too, but I'd rather listen to him than Madden.

Does anyone on here enjoy listening to Madden?

Not a huge Madden fan, but I'd take him over NFL Network Gumbel any day.

In no way does the NFL network deserve 3 stars...What a bunch of bullcrap.

Bryant Gumbel is, without a doubt, the WORST NFL commentator in history...maybe in any sport of all time. His lack of football knowledge and just a basic understanding of the game is ridiculous. He says some of the dumbest things I've ever heard and is constantly being corrected by the other commentators.

Maybe they received 3 stars simply because of the other commentators patience in dealing with the biggest moron in the world.

How can he give Kevin Harlen only three stars he is easily the best play-by-play guy the NFL has. Gannon is alright of a color guy.

You have to remember that this is as a broadcast team and not individuals. So, you can have one strong person, but the other one might bring them down.

Seriously, what's the love obsession with Madden? I'm not going to argue with anyone that likes him, but does anyone like him? Even one person? Just curious.

I skimmed it. I saw he had Gumble ranked ahead of Buck and Aikman and am completely ignoring the article.

Joe Buck is one of the best announcers in sports. I don't love Aikman as an announcer - but I do like him. His first year was horrid but he's been much, much better.

Gumble anything but a no star? Wow...
