No wonder his head doubled in size.

I still think Brady Anderson hitting 50 homers for Baltimore was a roid accomplishment.

That's what I don't get, I mean look at all NFL players. They are monsters and steroid use has to be as bad if not a lot worse than baseball yet we hear very little about it.

I don't think any current steroid test is 100% infallable, however the NFL's steroid (and overall drug testing) policy in much more stringent than that of MLB. I believe the new NFL guidelines that went into place in 2005 subjects the players to up to 6 tests during the offseason. In addition, each player is tested in training camp and seven random players per team are tested each week during the season. The also have an agreement with the player union to update the tests at least annually as new designer drugs are identified.

They have historically been known to have the toughest testing polices in all of professional sports. The major knock on them to this point is that they don't test blood (at least as of 05), only urine.

The NFL testing is still a joke. The teams are notified 7 days ahead of time who is going to be tested and the DO tell them right away. Not only that, nobody watches them pee, they have to stand 10 feet behind them... Even the PGA tour watches them pee. How else do you think the entire Panthers team got away with it....

I thought this is just what happens when you get into your 30's. I was looking forward to bulking up a little.

Yeah...no steroid problem in the NFL!?! The NFL is just much better at keeping this stuff minimized in the news than MLB is and also much better at squeezing their broadcast partners to minimize the amount of time spent on steroid stories.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

And guys are testing positive all the time "for a violation of the substance abuse policy"...that's about all the press says about it and then the guy gets a paltry 4 week suspension.

Heck, I believe a year or two ago, Shawne Merriman of the Chargers tested positive, was suspended for four games, and then was selected the defensive Player of the Year at the end of the season. What a joke.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
