Does Barry Bonds Sign and Play in 2008?
Bonds criminal case is not expected to begin until 2009 so he is cleared to play for the 2008 season

Yep...somebody will sign him...count on it.

Yes... Someone that needs to put butts in the seats will sign him, for that reason alone.

He will prob end up in KC, because that is the only way someone would pay to go see a royals game.

CyBookie?
I don't think he signs anywhere. Not with MLB's guaranteed contracts and legal issues hanging over his head.

It depends on how badly he wants those 3,000 hits. I've heard Tampa Bay had interest.

not before the start of the season. However somebody will mid year. AL team who needs a bat for their DH spot.

He'll try to go somewhere that is in the chase for the playoffs. Look for him to even drop his asking price if he can get on a winning team. He'll kinda be the Randy Moss of MLB

Maybe we can get an event with odds on him signing before the season, by mid season, or by post season?

Re: Does Barry Bonds Sign and Play in 2008?
First, it's limited to AL teams because no one is going to sign him to play the field. Next, the Baseball Tonight crew is of the opinion there just isn't a single team in the AL right now that's desperate enough to sign that headcase. That being said, I expect the Yankees to make a go at him come August when they need the "help" to make the run at the Red Stockings...

I think it's going to depend alot on injuries. If a team suffers a big injury to a DH and needs a power bat they may go after him. Look at NYY, Texas, Seattle (especially if they are in the hunt). He won't have too many issues legally this year as the purgery charge was thrown out and they haven't issued a new enditement and may not at all.
