Barnstormers

Anyone going to the game tonight? We got some cheap tickets through the wife's work. Hitting Raccoon River for some pregame and then off to the Wells.

Hope they give a better showing than what I read about from their opener.

New team, new players, still learning how to play together. Again, I wouldn't have high expectations for a few games.

I am going. My fiance's relative got tickets through work as well. Not sure what to expect, but it should be a good time

Don't expect the same level of game that the previous Barnstormers had. Remember, this is a division below the previous team.

Checking the roster, looks like former ISU linebacker Lloyd is already on the IR list.

Re: Barnstormers

I think I'm going. Need to buy tickets yet, but starting at 4pm you .get Jason Brown with a free concert outside of Vets and some other stuff going on.

I think it would be a decent excuse to skip out of work early

im going to try n go...have 2 get tix still

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Barnstormers

Just got my tickets.... Not too bad of seats remain. Could be better, but I waited till the last minute. Could of got really good seats but couldn't justify spending 100 on two tickets after all the "convenience fees" and what not.

Just need to pick beer up on the way home.

Re: Barnstormers

You will be able to do that very easily.

I hope this team makes it, and maybe someday they will grow up to be a real team. But with it being AFL2, they still need to make it cheaper. Two $18 tickets turn into $50 after they add in all the expenses involved.

No exactly cheap, specially once you add in food and such. I can justify during ISU football, but not for something like AFL2.

Re: Barnstormers

I agree Bellz. We got ours for $15 via the work connection, but that was a one-time thing for this game (unless my company offers a group rate).

So, at most we'll hit one more game. As much as I love football, I have more important things to spend the cash on. And, it's not easy to get me to travel downtown.

Re: Barnstormers

Weren't there season ticket options around $90? Thats not a bad deal in my book... The low number of games will be a benefit. It wouldn't suprise me to see the Barnstormers lead the league in attendance.

Re: Barnstormers

Yeah... Actually season tickets are $80 right now for some seats. My only problem is that I am a Casual fan that will only make a couple games a year. Specially, since I'm getting married in June, I don't have many free weekends this summer. When I do go to a game I don't want to spend a ton of money to get in the door.

If I knew I was going to make more then 2 games or so, I would order the season tickets. It's a heck of a deal in all reality. I just don't see myself being that committed with summer coming up and Cyclone football around the corner.
