Best OL avail. at their pick. Needs a WR need to be addressed as well.

All we need is an O-Lineman, actually a couple of them. I wouldn't worry about QB we are usually pretty solid there. I think I just vomited in my mouth a little after typing that. I would be nice to get another good receiver as well.

Increasing the depth at LB wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either... A good pass rushing D-end would be great.

"Johnson has average size, even when he weighed in at 214lbs. He will need to get stronger to better handle the beating NFL QB’s take. He will also need some time to develop his overall skill. Despite working with Jim Harbaugh during his college career, he still needs some mechanical work and needs time adjusting to an NFL playbook. " (from a draft website)
He will be at least 3 years away from competing once he gets drafted.

As a Packer fan I say draft Drew Tate.

The Bears could benefit from trading down - as they have a handful of significant needs - especially at receiver and offensive line. They're not exactly set on defense either.
Oh, and there's that quarterback position...

Ya, I would like to see them trade the pick to Dallas for the 22nd and 28th picks.

Why, what would be wrong with that trade?

according to the pick value chart which most teams use, the bears 14th overall is worth 1100 points, and cowboys picks are worth 1440 22(780 points), and 28(660 points)
it would be a bad trade for the cowboys

Exactly.
Plus, I'm loving that once again - Dallas has 2 first round picks and neither are in the top 10.

Don't worry, they'll be packaged to get Oakland's #4 for McFadden
As for the Bears - either Jeff Otah or Chris Williams in the first round. Please do not pick Mendenhall in the first round. 1st Round RBs aren't worth it. Reaching for a Limas Sweed, wouldn't be terrible, but I think the Bears already have a Desean Jackson on their team, and his name is Devin Hester. Don't need another small, fast WR.
Shoot for Chad Henne in the 2nd Rd. or Brohm, maybe Flacco. I think Brohm gets picked off at the top of the 2nd round by Atlanta though. Also, if you go OL, and your choice of QB isn't there in rd 2, I think Mario Manningham could be available at 44. Big value there, IMO.
There are plenty of RBs to be had in the 3rd Round: Jamaal Charles, Tashard Choice (who I think could be stellar), Chris Johnson (could be ROY next year on right team), Matt Forte in Rd 4 maybe, or someone like Allen patrick later in the draft... RB is the deepest position this year, lets not overvalue them.
The Bears have been excellent at drafting D later in the draft too, so why not keep doing what you ARE good at, and then try to actually be smart with your first few picks?
I think OL and WR are the biggest needs for the Bears, followed by S and DL; yes QB is a need, but anyone drafted isn't going to play right away this year, so find someone like a Josh Johnson, or another guy with HUGE upside and don't pay him a ton of money to learn to play in the NFL.

ESPN the Mag had a great write up about how this chart (created by Jimmy Johnson and the Cowboys) actually is completely wrong for today. It is an almost 20 yr old chart. Basically because of signing bonuses and guaranteed money and how nothing is a sure thing, the top couple of picks are way overvalued in this chart, while in the new up to date chart, all first round picks have high value, and for the same comparison, the Bears' #14 is worth 2,615 and the Cowboys' #22 (2,395) & #28 (2,235) are worth more in total...
I'll try to save the charts and article from the Mag and repost.
EDIT: Not sure if this link will work for you or not (probably not = insider)... ESPN.com - INSIDER/MAGAZINE
If it does, it's page 67 to start reading.

I read the same article. Regardless of old or new method, the value doesn't add up.
