Re: Chiefs fans it could get worse

I am a season ticket holder to the Chiefs and life long Chiefs fan and my take it the following. The guy is a complete animal who had a very good season last year. I was excited about the opportunity to have a defensive line with Allen, Tamba Ali and the potential to draft Glenn Dorsey at #5 next weekend. That defensive line along with D. Johnson and Napolean Harris at LB would be a solid defense.

But the problem is on the offensive side of the ball with the OL older than dirt because Carl didnt pay attention. I see them trading Allen to the Vikings for hopefully a 1st and 2nd rounder this year, 1st and 3rd in the worst case scenario.

With a 1st and 2nd rounder for Allen that would give them the following picks:

#5, #17, #35 & #47

This would allow them to hopefully draft Dorsey at #5 to fill the hole with Allen gone and then use the remaining picks to draft the O-Line.

I hope they are able to get something done, because their home schedule is not very good this year and a quiet Arrowhead stadium is very boring. It also makes for the trip down to KC at 5:45 a.m. painful!

Allen is an awesome defensive guy. Does not make sense to get rid of him. He was the team last year.

DUMB DUMB DUMB! What next, is he going to hire Issiah Thomas as assistant general manager? If he trades Allen he better get a TON of compensation for him. Possibly the best defensive end in the league and a fan favorite, wow things are really looking bad.

This guy seems to have come out of nowhere so it may not be quite as big a deal as some make it seem. Then again I don't pay a lick of attention to KC so maybe he has always been good. I think the Chiefs are hopping to get two or three guys/picks out of him which they need as they are a long way from being good. As a Vikes fan I also like the deal, provided he keeps performing. A 1st and a 3rd would be worth it. They may be looking D line in the first anyway and this guy is more of a known quantity. Giving up the 3rd is acceptable given that upgrade as well. What I'm afraid of is they weasel another pick/player away and this guy turns into Chris Hovan...

As a Chiefs fan I like this trade. With no offense, there are no playoffs anyway. In addition to Allen I would like to see Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzales get dealt as well. Right now we have 1 quality offensive lineman in Brian Waters so it doesn't matter who you have at QB or RB yet. Build the line this year with hopefully at least 3 OL starters and then evaluate Croyle and K. Smith. There's no point to pay either LJ or Gonzales with the quality of this offense.

Allen is the best player on the team. Period. If they trade him they need to trade LJ and Tony G. A complete rebuild. I really don't think the Hunt Family will let this thing go long enough for Herm or Carl to see the end. Last year was so horrible. This year will be as bad, maybe worse. Dorsey is an inside player, and KC played several young guys inside last year. That's why our former Cyclone was released this Winter.

I think it is a lose-lose situation. Do you trade your best player, or do you keep him and his paycheck on a horrible team.

I agree with this. If you're trading Allen, trade Johnson and Gonzales too. Totally blow the team up and rebuild with a young group.

Gonzo won't get traded. That would be a big PR mess as popular as he is in KC. I'd rather them pay up for Allen, trade LJ and draft McFadden. Carl and Herm are goners if they have a repeat of last season.

I'm pretty conflicted about this. On the one hand he's one of my favorite players on the Chiefs and I can easily see him being a key part of a great defense in the future. On the other hand there are so many holes on this team that they're going to have to find some draft picks somewhere.

After King Carl burned another bridge I'm not sure he would have signed with them after his franchise tag was up or not so maybe it's better to get a couple of good picks. I just wish someone other than Carl was there to use them.

So you're saying we'll have some new management soon?

I will not re-new my season tickets if this happens. This is my last straw. I have been through alot in over 30 years, when a team does what this team does I could just puke. Never have I seen a team go from good to WTF.

Expect it to happen on the 11th hour on draft day-HE WILL BE A VIKING is my prediction
Herm and Carl are draft hogs. They want to prove that they can find hidden gems when they can't
so if this happens I would take Alberts and then Brohm for my picks

There is no way they will trade Johnson the cap hits would kill the Chiefs. I would like to seem them do it but there is no way financially the chiefs could do it. I really like Allen but the Chiefs need too many things not to try and pick up two more early round picks. If they do get two first round and second round picks they will probably go after a T and DL/CB in the first and a QB and G/T in the second then a CB/WR in the third.

I love the NFL but not a specific team.

With that said I must attend a Chiefs game in Arrowhead.

That place was crazy at the ERC.

Go Clones! Go Knights!
