If Vernon Wells or Alex Rios were off to a slow start they would have to deal with it. They have no reason to let Frank slump and hope he comes out of it.

So they signed a player to a 2 year $18 million contract just to be a complement? I guess the Jays aren't greedy; they're just stupid.

Consider Andruw Jones - he really sucks and is still getting ABs because they are paying him to play, not platoon. I hope the Hurt hooks on somewhere and plays well, particularly against the Jays.
Guess the Red Sox better give up on Big Papi, he is only hitting .177 with a third more at bats... Ryan Zimmerman, .215, bench... Robinson Cano? .169? see ya... Troy Tulowitzki, flash in the pan only hitting .176... Ryan Howard better take his .186 packing too... and while he's at it he can take Carlos Delgado, Russell Martin, Paul Konerko, Alphonso Soriano and Prince Fielder with him...

Great deal for Oakland. Paying him the league minimum. Kind of interesting that they have both Big Frank and Mike Sweeney now, but Oakland is kind of interesting in general.
