Shaun Alexander Released by Seahawks

Seahawks released RB Shaun Alexander after he passed a physical Tuesday.

Like the end of his Seattle reign, Alexander's release was painfully slow. Alexander has been one the fantasy football titans of the decade, but he doesn't have much left in the tank. He could be given a shot for a backup-needy team like the Colts, Ravens, or Chargers. His best-case scenario would be in Detroit.

I wonder if he will be able to make an impact anywhere else - would you want him on your favorite team?

That's a long way to fall in only a few years....MVP and TD record-holder to being cut. Sounds like he kind of became a cancer on the team.

No. I think he's soft, he already has had injury problems, and he's at that age where running backs begin their decline. His decline has already begun.

Pretty bad when you are replaced by Duckett the Snowplow. Maybe the Chiefs can pick him up.

Right now he is just an older version of Cedric Benson. If he could somehow regain some youth I would love him on the Bears.

Better bring Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson with him because he's nothing without them.

First Cedric the Entertainer, then Cedric the Bust. Shawn could look good in a Bears uniform.

I'd prolly give him a small, 1 year deal. He's only 30 so in theory he "should" have something left in the tank. He was miserable last year, though. :(

If he was somewhere with a solid line, he could be productive. I still don't think I'd have him in more than a backup role. He still has a year or two left in him.

I agree that he runs very soft right now. It's really kinda painful to watch him.

Re: Shaun Alexander Released by Seahawks

Even without Hutch and Jones he seemed to quit trying after he signed his big contract. He has always rubbed me the wrong way with his comments and attitude. As a Vikings fan I would not care if he ended up in Detrioit, he would continue the legacy of lazy overpaid talent in Detroit. (Charles Rogers, Mike Wiliams, Shaun Rogers,...) You could almost see this coming when Seattle signed both Julius Jones and Duckett.

This could be a pure coincidence but after he signed his big deal after his record breaking seasons, he went into the crapper.

With the Colts... I would much rather have Kenton Keith backing up Addai than Alexander. I understand last season Alexander was limited by injury but I would not spend $ on him.
