Hoffman blew another save last night, this time it was Maddux's chance at his 250th win. He has never been a hard thrower but is barely bringing it 80 mph anymore. His advantage has always been the straight change but it can hardly be effective when a hitter can all but eliminate fastball from the equation... This year he is 0-2 with an 8.22 era and hitters are batting .361 against him. Hoffman has been a one of my favorite players to watch over the years, but he it's time to go....

Actually, it would have been his 350th win. I agree, I think Hoffman should call it quits. He's had a great career, but I think it's time to say good-bye. |

Wow, it is sad to see him drop like that, and it ticks me off that he blew Maddux's win. | |
