Chiefs Draft

With the Number 5 and now number 17 first round pick in there hands. What should the Chiefs do?
I believe that if we are truely in a rebuilding stage we need to ge Matt Ryan @ #5 so that Croyle has some competition. And then build around a Quarterback not off of another player.
# 17 I hope that Otah or far fetched Clady will be there.

So who should the Chiefs draft at #5 and then @ # 17

Re: Chiefs Draft

Trade down at 5. Matt Ryan will suck as bad as Brodie Croyle with the Chiefs OL. I would draft linemen this year and if you still need a quarterback look next year or 2 years down the road once the line is built, a running game is established, and the QB actually has a chance. Hopefully they don't go with Gholston as I see him failing as much as Ryan Sims (different position but just as unsuccessful)

Re: Chiefs Draft

If they can get Chris Long at 5 get him if not try and trade down to NE or Balt. then get Alberts. If you get Long at 5 then get Clady if there or Williams from vandy. If they get Albert first then go after Harvey from FL, DE from Clemson or a top CB if there. Ryan scares me I just don't think he is a franchise QB I think he is better then Croyle but not worth a top 10 pick.

No one sucks as much as Brody Coyle. Bret would be an upgrade.

Brody Coyles initials says it all.

He is like buying an SUV when gas prices are high.

Go for Matt The Lion Ryan

Re: Chiefs Draft

I would almost take a DE or OL at the #5, then possibly trade the #17 down a few spots and draft a QB like Brohm, Henne, or Flacco who will all probably be available late in the 1st round. Some draft "experts" are saying that Brohm and Flacco could be better QB's than Ryan.

Regardless, I expect Carl Peterson to find a way to bomb in this draft like he always does.

Re: Chiefs Draft

I'm always excited to watch the draft and see who the Chiefs pick but then I remember the busts they have picked (remember Trezelle Jenkins?) and then read this story from the KC Star, it makes me wonder how badly they can screw up 13 picks.....
www.kansascity.com | 04/24/2008 | Chiefs cant afford another first-round draft bust like Ryan Sims

Re: Chiefs Draft

I'd say take atyaba rubin at 5. Alvin Bowen at 17. And get Blythe, banks, and meyer later in the draft. LOL

Re: Chiefs Draft

They need OL help like the hawkeyes need bail money. I'd draft 2 or 3 linemen I think and go from there.

Yeah, take 4 guys that couldn't win much in college and throw them on the same team in the NFL, that will improve the Chiefs quickly... Plus linebacker an interior linemen are not the Chiefs weaknesses, Blythe is a 3rd or 4th WR at best and Meyer isn't even worthly to carry a clipboard in the NFL. Hey, let's take Shaggy in the 7th round while we're at it!

Re: Chiefs Draft

Overall so far I am pleasantly impressed with the Chiefs draft. Dorsey may not have filled a huge need but he's an upgrade and possibly the best player in the draft. Albert fills a need on the OL and Flowers falling into the 2nd round was a nice pick at CB.

Still need to find the DE and I'd like to see them pick up a QB and WR in them mid rounds too. Maybe someone like Ainge or Brennen will slip into the 5th round? Manningham is still on the board in the 3rd round at the moment.

Re: Chiefs Draft

all of those 4-25 recommendations sounded good for 4-25...but things couldnt have went better yesterday wit the way things unfolded... getting dorsey, albert and then flowers in the 2nd.

Re: Chiefs Draft

charles was an okay pick...probably their highest ranked player left on the board even though RB wasnt as highly needed. considering they have the 76th now im guessing played into that.
