ESPN - Cuban: Mavs will deal with Howard's admission of drug use internally - NBA
If you listen to the interview, according to Josh anyway, pretty much everybody in the NBA smokes weed...

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

No big deal, unless he is doing it during the season. Better than drinking in his situation, I'd think...and players drink during the season probably more often than smoke pot. The media will make a huge deal out of this, but its not like this is surprising. Props to Howard for speaking his mind.

I will agree that I don't think that smoking pot is a huge deal personally... It is against the law though, and for a role model (no offense to Charles Barkley) to basically openly state they smoke pot is like asking ESPN to camp outside your house. | |

It's illegal still, but people all over america need to realize that marijuana is EVERYWHERE. people all over this country smoke weed, athletes are people too. Of course potsmoking goes on in sports, it is not a very good thing to do as a role model...just like drinking prolly isn't but i guess its kinda how you do it. If he is smoking for leisure in the offseason, thats different than smoking 5 mins before playing a game. It's definitely not a performance enhancer, but I still don't think it has much of a place in sports.
